Breach Watch Monitoring

What is Breach Watch?

Breach Watch continuously monitors your stored emails and passwords against known data breaches, alerting you immediately if your credentials are compromised.

Checking for Breaches

  1. Navigate to Breach Watch
  2. Click "Check for Breaches"
  3. System scans all your stored credentials
  4. View breach report

Understanding Breach Reports

Each breach report shows:

  • Breach Name: Website or service that was breached
  • Date: When the breach occurred
  • Compromised Data: What information was exposed
    • Email addresses
    • Passwords
    • Names
    • Phone numbers
    • Other personal data
  • Severity: Impact level (Critical, High, Medium, Low)
  • Affected Records: Which of your records are impacted

Severity Levels

  • 🔴 Critical: Password breached + recent breach (< 2 years)
  • 🟠 High: Password breached or sensitive data exposed
  • 🟡 Medium: Email found in breach but password not exposed
  • 🟢 Low: Old breach with limited impact

Taking Action on Breaches

If your credentials are found in a breach:

  1. Immediate: Change the password on the affected website
  2. Check Related Accounts: If you reused the password, update all accounts
  3. Update in Vault: Save the new password
  4. Enable 2FA: Add extra security on the affected account
  5. Monitor: Watch for suspicious activity

Breach Watch Settings

Customize monitoring preferences:

  • Email Notifications: Get alerts for new breaches
  • Monitoring Frequency: How often to check
  • Severity Filter: Only alert for critical/high severity
  • Excluded Accounts: Skip monitoring for specific records
